Contact Lens Examination & Fittings

Your eyes are as unique as your fingerprints, so of course, some eyes are easier to fit for contact lenses than others. Even if you’ve been told your eyes are “hard-to-fit,” the team at Visions of Washington is equipped to help find the right contact lenses for you.

Finding the Right Contacts in 3 Steps

Step 1: The Exam

Even if you’ve recently had a standard eye exam, we’ll still need to perform a contact lens exam before we can fit you for new lenses. In addition to determining your contact lens prescription (which is different from your eyeglasses prescription), we’ll make sure you’re not suffering from any eye issues that might prevent you from wearing contact lenses.

Once we’ve confirmed that contact lenses are an option for you, we can move on to the next step.

Step 2: The Fitting

A contact lens fitting is similar to being measured for a tailor-made suit. We’ll use highly advanced and precise equipment to measure your eyes. These measurements will help us determine the lenses that will fit you most comfortably and function effectively.

Step 3: The Trial Program

Using all the data we’ve collected so far, we’ll choose the contact lenses we think will serve you best, and send you home with a pair for you to try. If the lenses feel comfortable, and your vision is crisp and clear, we’ll write you a prescription for them.

If they’re not quite right, we’ll try another kind until we find the perfect fit. Sometimes it takes a few trials to find the ideal match, so don’t get discouraged if the first pair you try isn’t exactly right.
